What an excellent conference we experienced last week in Atlanta! Thank you to all those who planned the conference for a job well done.  Thanks also to the speakers, 'actors', hotel personnel and AmericasMart participants for helping us learn and grow and have some fun in a comfortable setting! Now the board begins the plans for our next conference in Louisville, Kentucky April 9-13, 2011. If you as members have any speaker suggestions or thoughts to improve, please let me know so we can include them in our planning. I will try to keep you updated on a regular basis.  Thanks in advance for your input! Denise Steffich, President

As a first time attendee, I thought the conference was wonderful! I had heard great things and you all surpassed my expectations.

I wondered if others might find it helpful to have time to break out in small groups organized by hospital type (large, small, acute, rehab, etc.)? I thought it would help to network with people facing similar challeges specific to hospital type.

Thanks so much to Dolly Anderson and the Board of the SDVSHO for your hard work!

Thank You to Dolly and everyone who worked on our conference in Atlanta. Allyson Lewis was my favorite speaker thank you for that opportunity. I did find it difficult to return messages between sessions due to the tight schedule. Maybe a bit more wiggle room to check in with work would be a help to others also.

It was a wonderful time packed full of education, socializing and good food!

I spoke to a few people who also suggested round table chats i.e. set up like What's the Buzz? facilitated by Jenelen Dulemba.  Personally my favorite was Roseanna Galindo-Kuhn, Volunteer Satisfaction Index.  She was passionate about volunteering, engaging and a joy to attend her session.  I would love to see her back.  In 2009 I was very impressed with Legal Issues: Reducting Risks by Jeffery L. Thompson, Attornery. and Speaking like a Pro by Gary Rifkin.  It would be wonderful to hear them speak again perhaps at a future conference.

Thank you SDVSHO Board and the state of Georgia for welcoming my group and putting together a wonderful conference.

One of the items I would like to see added next year is a "roundtable" of software users.  I am a volgistics user and would like to share and learn from other users of this software.  Of course Jamine is all things computer and also a Volgistics user, so might I suggest she host a roundtable?  It could also be a time to show others how a software package can make life easier.

There are other software companies and I am sure you could find someone to also lead a roundtable for that product as well.

No, not a sales job, more of "I use it this way, how do you do it?"

One thing I noticed in particular was the number of empty seats at the closing breakfast.  I assume this was because people indicated on their registration form that they would participate in the meal, but then decided to leave early, maybe due to flight times.  I know it's been tried many different ways, but perhaps a closing night banquet with some nice entertainment, the presentation of the DVS award, and the closing flag ceremony would be worth a shot.  Then people could leave the next morning as early as necessary and not miss anything.
