Do you charge your volunteers for their uniform?   How much do you charge?

Yes - we work with a local vendor to get a good price and keep the uniforms in stock.  We charge the volunteers our cost.

Yes, volunteers purchase their uniforms. I order monogrammed uniforms from Flagstaff and keep in them in stock. They run from $16 to $20 for sizes up to XL. I'll have the occasional volunteer for which the purchase would keep them from being here; I offer them used uniforms at no cost.

We charge $15 for uniforms.  After 500 hours, the volunteer receives a replacement for free.  We also keep used uniforms on hand so those who can't afford may borrow.

We charge $25 for the jacket or vest that has our Health System logo embroidered on it.

We do not charge the volunteer unless it is lost/misplaced.  Our Auxiliary pays for them (I usually order every 6-8 months.)  If the jacket is worn out or damaged while volunteering, we replace for free.

No, we do not charge volunteers for uniforms.  Each new volunteer may choose a blazer or polo (has logo, etc) when the volunteer completes orientation.  We do replace blazers and polos when they are worn.  I budget for uniforms annually.

At WakeMed we do not charge adults for the uniforms.  If they want a 2nd one, we will sell them one at cost.  Junior volunteers pay $10 for the embroidered polo shirt - the cost is $20+.  We ask adult volunteers to return uniforms when they leave the organization - most do.  We launder and re-use if they are in very good condition.  We will toss out tattered, stained, etc.

We charge the volunteers our cost.  I keep them in stock.  If someone can't afford one, I let them use a used one with the understanding that in the future when they can no longer volunteer, they will return it.
