We adore them; they are practical, very safe, and extremely cost effective. In three years we have not lost even one - not to theft, not to wear and tear or intentional destruction.
They are very difficult to steal since they don't collapse.and are tall. (I actually watched some teens try and the chair just would not fit into the vehicle)
Our local nursing homes do not have Staxis so we don't have the continuous exchange of chairs we had in the past.
They are not desirable to the sticky fingered because you can not move yourself - you have to be pushed.
The brake makes them super-safe to get into and out of. (Risk management....)
They are easy to clean
They can be ordered in colors so you can code who owns what across the facility
There is almost no maintenance/destruction so they actually save money over the continual purchase of conventional chairs (foot rests permanently attached, arms will swing away)
Ours were championed by a volunteer familiar with them - to the point that they all are emblazoned with "Leon's Chariot" to commemorate his hard work in getting them
Our customers prefer them over the older style
They are easier to store since they stack together rather than collapsing then managing to hook themselves together.
The chairs have areas for medical gas, charts, patient belongings all built in.
They are very easy to push and both volunteers and staff will get a Staxi before they will get a conventional chair.
