We occasionally get requests from groups to come in for a 1 time volunteer experience.  Does anyone else get these requests and how do you accommodate them?  What kind of things do you have them do?

I also get some of those requests.  Unfortunately, I cannot accomodate them.  We do have some that come and play music occassionally at our long term care facility and I strongly recommended to the Enrichment team director to have each of them (at minimum) read and sign a confidentiality agreement.  They do not inter mingle with the residents, simply entertain.

We have projects that they can do both on and off campus depending on the ages of the volunteers and the size of the group.  These do not involve patient care.  We have groups that do ground work days, clerical special projects, sponsor toy or toiletry drives off campus etc.  You can go to our web site at www.archildrens.org/volunteer to learn more.

We allow one time volunteers.Projects vary from having the volunteers play musical instruments to helping clean one of our therapy gyms. We also have used these volunteers to help with grounds clean-up. Hope this helps!
