Volunteers in Central Sterile?

Just curious if anyone uses volunteers to assist in your surgical areas with inventory or stocking of sterile equipment (aka--peel packs)?

I've been approached about creating a position and I'm cautiously investigating.  Sounds like it might be more than is appropriate for a volunteer.

    Thanks for the insight.

Conway Medical Center does use volunteers in our Central Sterile Department.  A majority of them are students who have the opportunity to learn the instruments and some insight to the OR.  If you need a position description, I would be happy to share.

We are the same.  Both high school and college students have volunteered in central sterile supply and enjoy it.  They feel it is "inside" of medicine and a chance to see something that others never do.

We also have students in CS though they are college students.  They really enjoy the tasks in that area, feel part of the facility and are an enormous help to the employees.
