Please respond if your state DVS organization holds it's annual conference jointly with your state Auxiliary association.

I'm curious to know how you split responsibilities for the conference, in what activities you co-participate (speakers & workshops, etc.) and whether you distinquish between a member of the DVS organization and the Auxiliary organization depending on how the registration is paid.  Or any other interesting challenges/solutions you might have for creating a successful joint conference.

Likewise, I wonder if there are states where you DO NOT hold a joint conference?

    Thanks!

The Tennessee Hospital Association hosts a state conference. Our state DVS group(Tenn Healthcare Volunteer Professionals) and our state volunteer group(Council on Volunteers) are members of THA. We meet seperately at THA. Sometimes we will have a mixer together, but our sessions are seperate.

The Kentucky Hospital Association hosts an annual convention where the State Auxiliary Leaders and DVS group attend for a day of speakers and a luncheon.  The state DVS group - KSDVS - also holds an annual educational conference just for Volunteer Directors/Managers.

South Carolina Hospital Assoication building is the location of the SCAHA annual fall conference.  Auxiliary leadership and any auxiliain who wishes to attend along with the DVS is welcome to attend the educational day.  Guest speakers are invited, business for the state auxiliary is conducted at their board meeting the night before, with a report to the group the next day.  Continental breakfast and a lunch is provided.  The fee for the day is flat rate for both auxiliary and DVS.  I believe the state auxiliary board plans the day with the hospital assoication.
