Baby Stocking

We are looking for a company that makes Christmas stocking to give to our new babies. The company that we have been getting them from no longer makes them. Also would like to know what your hospital does for the newborns at Christmas.

    Thanks,

    Glenn

We have an area ladies group sew life size stockings for the babies to be placed in to go home during the month of December.

We have a group of "sewing room" volunteers who make stockings that are large enough to put a newborn in, so we send our babies home in a Christmas stocking during December.  They make the stockings out of red fleece and trim the top with holiday-patterned material (usually cotton so it's not fuzzy around baby's nose).  They've been doing this forever and the nurses call to request the stockings if we're a little late getting them delivered!

I just have to share this story...since you brought it up.

I love this idea of wrapping the December babies in stockings because I happen to be one!  (many, many) Years ago, a group of volunteers made such stockings at the hospital where I was born and gave one to my mother for me.  Once I was home, she cut it down and made the Christmas stocking I have hung by the fire for the past umhmm years.  What's interesting is that the health system I work for, as Volunteer Director, bought that hospital in the 1990's.  Even though we're in a different facility with a different name, I still think there's a connection.  You never know how your volunteers will touch people's lives!
