Purpose of Volunteers in Patient Registration area assist the staff in the Registration ARea by ensuring patients and visitors easily find thhe way to their destination.

Assignment summary:  Assist Patient Registration Staff with directing and escorting patients and visitors to the apppropriate areas of the hospital.

Duties include:

Greet patients and visitors as they arrive in the area

Help patients to properly sign in

Inform patients when it is their time to register

Escort patients to the appropriate department

Visit with waiting patients and their families

Obtain a wheelchair if needed

Process order by ensuring that orders are given to billing clerk for authorization and/or payment and return orders to patient
