For volunteer annual review / training, have you use a on-line as the method of delivering the training?

I have not yet progressed to on-line annual training, but, would some day like to get there.  In the interum, I am trying to reduce paperwork processed for annual signatures.  In the past I have had volunteers sign off on verifying their demographics, re-sign all of the following...customer service excellence agreement, consent to interview, photo, video tape, commitment to confidentiality and the safety responsibility policy (a/k/a - red rules).  I believe much of the obtaining signatures is redundant year after year.

As an employee, we sign it once and done and as an employee are required to do an on line safety training.

Your thoughts and suggestions would be most welcome regarding the redundant signing of paperwork for the volunteers.

We are moving toward an online orientation session and hope to be doing it early in 2012.

Currently all annual re-orientation items are done online.  We are a Volgistics user, so we can send items by email and verify that all volunteers received it.  We also include one area to highlight in each edition of our Volunteer Voice electronic newsletter.  For example a week in October is national fire safety week.  We will send out a reminder about fire safety on campus and remind the volunteers about RACE and PASS.  We will also post this on VIC so when the volunteer checks in they will also see the message.

For those who do not have email, we print the information off and mail it to them.  Believe me those are getting fewer and fewer.  It is less than 4% of our volunteers.
