I have a volunteer guild as opposed to an auxiliary.  But the nominating committee is made of board members.

We are updating our bylaws currently.  We have such a tough time finding members to serve on the Board that it has been proposed to eliminate the Nominating committee and allow me as DVS to create the ballot.  I've been doing it de facto anyway.

Auxiliary by-laws state immediate past president will serve as chair of nominating committee, however, should this person choose to become a candidate for any office, they shall resign from the committee immediately.  The chair of the nominating committee will appoint 2 other persons to serve on the nominating commitee.  If the immediate past president is unable or unwillng to serve as chairperson of the nominating committee the president shall be authorized to appoint a chair of the nominating committee with the approval of the auxilary board of directors.
