If you had extra space?

If you were giving extra retail space in your hospital or POB what would you do with it.

    Thanks,

    Extra space??

Oh my, how I wish I had "extra" space.  If the space is removed from the shop, I would purchase a kiosk and have a second shop in another location of your hospital.  I also would consider contacting First Uniform and let them put a uniform shop in the extra space. One of our hospitals in MD has one and it netted their auxiliary over $50K last year. They pay for the inventory, the POS system and the employee.

If it's in the shop, consider a coffee bar or cafe.  Can you tell that we're landlocked.  I dream of extra space.

That is a complicated question!  Is it attached to your current retail space or separate?  What are your hospital's primary lines of business?  How many employees do you have?

One of my hospitals is 150 beds, the other 450 beds.  The one thing I think we never have enough of is a wide variety of gifts.  I remember a time when I could go to our gift shop to buy a gift for my best friends birthday or for my mother.  Although our gift shops make lots of money, I just don't feel like I can buy those kinds of things in there anymore.  Just my thought :)
