I have a question for Volgistics/VicNet users. Do you allow volunteers to enter their volunteer hours online? If so, have you ever had an issue with volunteers entering false hours?

Yes, I allow my volunteers to enter hours from home.  IF I have had people lie about their hours, they have been very subtle about it and I have not caught it.  I recommend that you audit your service hours...this might help you keep an eye out for trouble.  If you are not sure about how to audit hours call me and I will happily help :)

I also allow some volunteers to self-report.  These are mainly those that volunteer after hours or in remote locations.  I do audit them, so I can verify against scheduled time, and haven't noticed too much variation.

We do not use VICNET.  All of our volunteers sign in using VICTOUCH.  We have touch panel screens throughout the health system.  We also use a personal computer via mouse in places with few volunteers to allow them to sign in.

All of our touch panels are in custom cabinets that can be locked after hours.  However we now have volunteers beginning as early as 4AM and staying as late as midnight, so the definition of "after hours" is quickly going away.
