Amy, my female volunteers have a choice between a smock or a polo shirt.  My men only have polo shirts.  I tried jackets and vests but those weren't very popular so I quit with them.

At St. Elizabeth Healthcare we offer a variety of style options for both men and women. For men we offer polos (short & long sleeve), button down shirts (short & long sleeve), jackets, long sleeved sweaters and a sweater vest. For women we offer polos (short & long sleeve), button down shirts (short & long sleeve), 3/4 sleeve smocks, vests, cardigan sets and zip-up sweaters. Our teen volunteers are required to wear the polo shirt style (short or long sleeve) but may choose to wear one of our sweater styles on top of those. All uniforms have our department logo and volunteers are also required to wear a volunteer badge to identify them as part of our team.

At Children's of Alabama, we have three options for both men and women.  All options are the same color and have the same volunteer logo design.  Volunteers can choose from scrubs, polos or lab jacket.  They are listed in order of popularity.

I think you will find at most Children's hospitals scrubs are the most popular due to patient interaction.

Uniform choices for men include a polo, vest or jacket, but most do the polo.
