We rcently made a bylaws change to say any volunteer is a member of the auxiliary. We do not charge dues. We welcome everyone who volunteers to take part in monthly meetings as well as all we fundraising and activities. The change have worked out very well with no one complaining...so far! :-)

At Children's of Alabama, the DVS is an ex officio member of the auxiliary board.  All volunteers are members of the auxiliary and we do not have dues.  Was costing more to collect and track the dues than we were bringing in.

In fact we are currently transitioning the auxiliary from a primary fundraising body to a service oriented group.  Our foundation will be the only fundraising activity for the hospital.  This also moved the gift shop from being an auxiliary function to a department of the hospital.
