Does anyone who works with the Volgistics system use the Tickler Option?   If so are you using it, what are you using it for and is it working for you?   I would like to explore this option.   THANKS!

There are two times in particular when the ticker option is especially useful:  Annual retraining and right after your volunteer recognition event.  When you click on the tickler option, you are first asked to make the selections of the checklist items you wish to see and when they are due.  When the list opens, check off the items you have received.  At the bottom of list you can indicate one date to use to mark the items as complete.  Same idea for the awards...you check off the awards given out, and then in the date box, put the date of the recognition event.  When you click go, the awards will be marked as given.

For future reference, we have several volunteer management software forums:  Volgistics, VolTrak, Vysone, and Volunteer Reporter.

Hope this helps....give me a call if you need more detail.  859.313.1290

I have the tickler option set up to tell me who has reached a "milestone" in service, i.e. 500, 1,000 hours of service, etc.  The membership chair of our auxiliary sends each person a handwritten note to recognize the milestone.  Also for the biggies the Director and others also send personalized notes, messages either by hand or electronically (Vicmail).

We no longer recognize individual awards/achievements at our "Big Events."  Our view of this is sort of like the beauty pageant.  You make a few folks happy (winners) but the majority leave feeling empty.  It is now strictly a celebration of what we have accomplished for the year.

Our event this year during national volunteer week is a repeat of last year due to the request of the volunteers.  We have a new baseball park (2nd year) within sight of the campus and we are having a night of "take me out to the ballgame" complete with peanuts, cracker jacks, hot dogs and hamburgers.
