Volunteer Leaders
As there are labor laws for children not to work until they are 14, does anyone allow volunteers age 13 in a hospital? What is the lowest age anyone has for volunteers, and what do you have them do?
Our Volunteers have to be a minimum of 16. We do this because of maturity. I have them at our front information desk after 4:00 and weekends. We also have teens in our Inpatient Rehab unit. They help stock carts, help with meals, and play games with our patients.
We also limit to 16 yrs due to maturity. We limit their duties to assisting in areas where there is supervision.
I do 14 -18. Next year I am going to start doing 15 - 18.
Minimum age here is 15.
