Our organization has policies concerning therapy dogs visiting patients but not if the volunteer uses a service dog. Looking for any information on a policy addressing areas in and outside the hospital a volunteer with a service dog can be utilized. Do not want any dog allergies to upset any patients. Thanks for any info possible.

Tracie,  Does your therapy dog policy address protocols to keep patient allergies at a minimum?  If so, then I would say the volunteer's service dog would apply to the same protocols.  If it were me, I would assign the volunteer to non-patient care areas.  Perhaps the gift shop, information desk, something of that sort.
